Biography
Ece Ekren is a Berlin-based DJ, producer, singer, songwriter and flute player originally from Istanbul. Her latest release, **“Deep in the Water,” a collaboration with acclaimed artist Matthias Meyer, has received strong attention since its release and was also featured and premiered on FluxFM, further highlighting Ece’s distinctive musical identity.
Her sound is rooted in musical storytelling, blending melodic house, techno, indie dance, organic and Afro-inspired grooves with hypnotic rhythms, organic instrumentation, emotional melodies and expressive vocals. Her DJ sets reflect the same versatility, moving between deep, melodic and energetic moments.
Ece is an established part of Berlin’s electronic music scene, regularly performing at leading venues including Sisyphos, KaterBlau and Ritter Butzke, as well as festivals such as Wurzel Festival and EXIT Festival, where she performed on the Mainstage.
With a background in Computer Engineering from Bahçeşehir University and Sound Engineering training at SAE, during her university years, she also worked in modeling and placed third in the Miss Civilization Beauty Contest. Ece brings a technical and highly independent approach to her music. As a producer and songwriter, she is involved in every stage of her creative process, from songwriting and vocals to production and artistic direction.
Her music has been released on respected labels including Stil Vor Talent / A Tribe Called Kotori, Einmusika, Zatar, Go Deeva, Sol Selectas, Harabe Recording and Sony Music / Universal. Her track “I Feel You” on Zatar Music reached #1 on Beatport’s Melodic House & Techno New Releases Top 100.
Through her productions, DJ performances and live instrumentation, Ece continues to develop a distinctive sound that is emotional, energetic and deeply personal, connecting electronic music with organic elements and expressive storytelling.
